What is a “Speed Dating Style” event?
What makes it unique?
A new way way to meet people for Friendship, Connection, or maybe something more
Do you want to …
- Meet Like-Minded People?
- Date?
- Make New Connections?
Who are these events for?
- Specifically designed for the NeuroDiverse Community
- Young adults (21-35 years old)
- Identify as Autistic, Au/DhD, ADHD, Social Anxiety, or a similar profile, and are able to participate independently, though emotional support persons are welcome and encouraged to attend
- Those who are disappointed with traditional ways of meeting new people, often feel out of place at traditional disability mixers, yet unsupported at neurotypical events
- Feel unsure of what to say when meeting someone new
How is a Speed Dating Style Event different?
- Structured
- Supportive
- Designed to foster conversation & connection
- No pressure to approach someone on your own
- Guided one-to-one conversations so you’re never left wondering what to say
- Our Connection Support Team is ready to help if needed
- Separate “Chill Room” if you need a break
- Low-Sensory
- Emotional Support Person(s) are always welcome and encouraged to attend
How is it structured?
1. The beginning – Helpful Tips to set you up for success:
- We’ll kick things off with a short, engaging presentation covering expectations, tips, boundaries, and more – so you feel confident going into each one-to-one conversation
2. Fun Ice Breakers:
- Feeling nervous? Totally normal! Between the presentation and our ice breakers, you will feel more comfortable in no time.
3. Structured, times, one-to-one conversations:

- After the presentation, everyone gets dedicated 1:1 time to connect.
- You’ll be given a Connection Card with all the partipants’ names – just mark who you’d like to connect with, and we’ll take care of the rest.
4. Not sure what to say? That’s okay!
- Our friendly Connection Support Team is available to help support and guide conversations whenever you need.
- Fun Conversation Cards at each table to make it easy to get a conversation started.
5. Need a break? We’ve got you covered!
- Our dedicated “Chill Room” is a seperate, quiet, low-stimulation space where you can step away, rest, and recharge at your own pace – no pressure, no expectations.
6. Wrap-up
- After the structured part, you’ll have free time to mingle, have a snack, decompress, or chat with facilitators
How do I know who I matched with?
- Within a day or two, you’ll receive your mutual matches via email along with their contact information – making it easy to continue the connection from there
Continue the Connection
- Each month, in addition to our Speed Dating Style event, we also host a Friendship & Connection Event.
- These structured, supportive events give you the opportunity to reconnect with people you’ve met before and continue building meaningful relationships, or meet new participants.
- Our next opportunity to mix and mingle is April 25, 6-8pm at The Cat Cafe.
